Will's tips for getting work as a tutor

The email I send friends

1. Write a tutoring CV, and publish as a PDF or on LinkedIN or on your own website.

   1. Inspiration for what to include:

      1. Keystone’s profiles

      2. Philomathtutor

      3. LinkedIn tutors like Sophie

2. Get your DBS in motion. Perhaps easiest to do through the Tutors Association, which is worth joining anyway.

3. Send this round to friends and family: anyone you know who will come into contact with families seeking tutors.

4. Create a larger tutoring profile on Word that includes all the information that online tutoring directories require.

5. Copy and paste the relevant parts of your profile to as many online tutoring directories as you have appetite for, e.g.

   1. Tutorful

   2. Superprof

   3. Spires

   4. (there are many more!)

6. Use the Good Schools Guide to bring up a list of some of the best tutoring agencies.

   1. Have a read and call the top 4-5 you like the sound of

   2. Ask if they have work, especially for your subjects and location and if they are recruiting tutors

   3. Apply accordingly
